06 Jun WONDER WOMAN Review (Spoiler Free)

For a long time DCEU has been trying to leave their mark on the box office and pleasing the critics (you know who), but regardless of all their efforts, they couldn’t live up to the expectations of the common masses. I say common masses because according to all hardcore fans the movies were perfect and yes I am one of those die hardcore comic fans. Wonder Woman debuted in the Batman Vs Superman: Dawn of Justice in which she slayed through her tough and exceedingly smart princess avatar that at the end saves the day by helping our boys in capes. Many believe that with this movie Wonder Woman is going to save DCEU’s sinking ship and lead them to the shore of success where MCU is already having a picnic. Do I agree with it? Hell yeah!

If you want a timeless origin story, you got it. If you are looking for a reason to get excited for wonder woman’s appearance in Justice League, you got it. If you are looking for a perfect female superhero role model, you got it. If you are looking for a movie with a great message, you got it. If you want sweet kickass action scenes, YOU GOT IT! God, I m excited. This is almost a perfect superhero movie and I hesitate at saying ALMOST only because even though I admire everything in the movie the end had me a little disappointed. But hey nobody is perfect, except for Batman, because he’s BATMAN. The ending fight sequence was poorly executed. The villain Ares was indigestible, especially his facial expressions, and poor CGI work. Rest all assured was pretty darn good.

Now let’s talk about the cast. Chris Pine’s portrayal of Steve Trevor was surreal. I personally loved Chris more than Gal Gadot. His serious one-liners were awe inspiring and he nailed at being hysterically funny. The duo had an explosive chemistry considering the timeline of their relationship in the movie. Gal Gadot is the best Wonder Woman yet. Period. Her accent, her fight action sequences, her poise and of course, her looks (Oh my god) makes her the best Wonder Woman ever casted. Pretty much everyone was perfectly casted, except for Ares. David Thewlis may have been perfect for Remus in Harry Potter series, but he doesn’t pass for being the God of War. A big no no! He’s the reason I am a bit disappointed with the ending. Overall the movie was awesome, hats off to Patty Jenkins for pulling DCEU out from the rubble of disappointments. Wonder Woman is definitely a must watch. Go ahead and enjoy it with your loved ones. Cheers!
